A person who manages what belongs to someone else. There's no ownership in stewarding.
Let's look at the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, starting in verse 14...a man goes on a long trip and calls his servants together to entrust to them his money while he is gone. There isn't direction for how to use it but the servants knew this man. He was the rightful owner of the money and the servants were his as well.
The servant with 5 bags of silver began to invest it immediately. The servant with 2 bags of silver went to work right away. But, the servant with 1 bag of silver dug a hole to store it in. It was that same servant who said to the man that he knew he was a harsh man and that's why he buried the 1 bag of silver he was given.
Don't treat what you're entrusted with as your own! The stewarding is our duty as servants of the Lord. The Lord has given us everything that is good; talents, special gifts, finance, promotion, salvation, deliverance, freedom from sin, the Holy Spirit, help in our time of need, hope and a future. Can God trust us to be faithful with what he has given us?
The Bible says "if we are faithful..." so are we? All belongs to the Lord and we are humble stewards; praise God for humble hearts to serve him faithfully!
Luke 16:12 "And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?"
Pray for wiisdom and knowledge, friends! Move forward seeking first the Kingdom of God and all else will be added to you. His Spirit will lead you and show you what pleases him.
Thank God for his love and mercy!
Hope this has blessed you!
